He holds a bachelor's degree in Law from the Catholic University of Petrópolis and a master's degree in Political Science from Columbia University. He was a researcher at the Cato Institute and at the Atlas Network in Washington, a professor of political science at Ibmec in Belo Horizonte (MG) and an Adam Smith fellow and Humane Studies fellow at the Institute for Humane Studies and John Blundell scholar at the Adam Smith Institute. His articles have appeared in several publications, such as Forbes , Newsweek and The Wall Street Journal .
