is an Assistant Professor of strategic management in the Department of Management,College of Business, Iowa State University. Professor DeMarie earned his Ph.D. degree from Arizona State University, Tempe. He also earned an M.B.A. degree from the University of Nevada Las Vegas and a B.S. degree in accountancy from Northern Arizona University, Flagstaff. His current research focuses on the effects of new technologies on competition and the workplace, including the emerging phenomena of virtual organizations, virtual teamwork, and e-commerce. He also works in the area of large-scale organizational change initiatives, such as restructuring and downsizing.
