Dr. Ron Lindstrom is a Professor in the School of Leadership Studies; Director, Centre for Health Leadership and Research, and, Henri M. Toupin Research Fellow in Health Systems Leadership at Royal Roads University, Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. His role includes: development and implementation of an applied research agenda in health systems leadership to inform scholarly practice and policy; development of partnerships and networks to support and advance health systems leadership, applied research activities and knowledge mobilization strategies; conduct of applied health leadership research and coordination of activities with stakeholders to address emergent needs in academic and practice settings; and, convening conferences, symposia, summits and think-tanks in emerging areas of scholarship and practice.
Lindstrom has extensive knowledge of and experience in the health system at the regional, provincial, and national levels. He has held a number of senior executive roles in community hospital and academic health centre environments in British Columbia before moving into academia. He also worked as a consultant with health service and related organizations for several years.
His current focus is on integrating research and practice in the health system with research interests including health leadership, health services planning and policy, knowledge linkage and exchange, participatory action research, complex adaptive systems, and inter-organizational networks.
Lindstrom holds an MSc in health services planning and administration. His more recent academic preparation at the PhD level focussed on participatory research in health services. Lindstrom is a Fellow of the Canadian College of Health Leaders.
