A recent GAO report profiled the status and condition of efforts at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to modernize its medical supply chain. VA, as with many other organizations and industries dependent on a mission-critical supply chain, seeks to adopt newer technologies on its journey “to become a lean, efficient supply chain that is recognized by its peers as being among the best in health care.”

As the primary point of interface to House and Senate Defense and Military Construction (MILCON) Appropriations Committees, Mark held responsibilities for development and execution of comprehensive legislative strategies for over $12 billion in appropriated funding for Army Health Care, Medical Research, Medical Procurement, Wounded Warrior care, and Medical MILCON. His efforts secured increased funding across all portfolios and doubled funding for the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program.
