Dr. David Preston is a Professor of Information Systems at Texas Christian University, Fort Worth, Texas. He received his Ph.D. in Business Administration and M.B.A from the University of Georgia and a B.S. and M.S. in Engineering from the University of Florida. His research interests include the role/impact of executive IS/business management with regard to organizational IS, IS strategic alignment, and strategic implementation of analytics.

He is a retired Army Medical Service Corps Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with over 25 years of active duty service culminating as Army Medical Congressional Budget Liaison with the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Financial Management and Comptroller, Pentagon.

Intelligent, Agile, Responsive Supply Chain in Support of the Nation’s Veterans

A recent GAO report profiled the status and condition of efforts at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to modernize its medical supply chain. VA, as with many other organizations and industries dependent on a mission-critical supply chain, seeks to adopt newer technologies on its journey “to become a lean, efficient supply chain that is recognized by its peers as being among the best in health care.”
